The DoelenEnsemble (DE) was founded in 1990 as the resident ensemble of De Doelen, by former Doelen director Huub van Dael and composer Peter-Jan Wagemans. Its goal: to increase attention to twentieth-century repertoire and create a broader audience for modern composed music.
